SONOMA COUNTY PRESENTATION DAY
FEBRUARY 6, 2016
8am - 1:30pm
4-H CENTER
6445 Commerce Blvd.
Rohnert Park, Ca. 94928
Have you ever heard of 4-H? Well if you haven't, 4-H is a national organization that has many separate clubs within many different counties. 4-H does many things including teaching kids life skills and community service. Inside each club, there are many different projects. From learning about animals like chickens, pigs, goats, etc..., to learning about how to garden, baking, arts and crafts, rocketry, etc... One of many projects is presentation skills or also called public speaking. This is where kids put together a presentation about anything they want to talk about. It can be on one of their projects they are in or even something they do outside of 4-H.
There are many kinds of presentations. For instance, demonstrations, illustrated talks, interpreted reading, power points, and many more. Then they learn how to present their presentations in a room full of people, with evaluators, at county presentation day. This skill can help them in life with either school work or a job. So come on down to the 4-H Center in
Rohnert Park, 6445 Commerce Blvd behind 24 Hour fitness. It's going to be a fantastic event.
Come and learn about 4-H!
January 19th the County Horse Project was invited to JRD Saddlery in Sebastopol. They were given a tour and shown the entire process of how English dressage, jump and endurance saddles are made. Thanks to Emily Lance, JRD saddle fitter, for showing us how it's done. Emily loved her time as a 4-H member in Michigan... especially the weeklong horse events at their summer fair. We hope to arrange a trip to the UC Davis Center for Equine Health in the near future. If you'd like to be a part of the County Horse Project, please contact Eileen at gpharofamily@comcast.net.
